Bank Summer Party

I know that I haven't blogged in a while. The boys are out of school and I have been putting in some overtime at work. Still doing a lot of knitting and trying to keep the house going. Same old, same old.
Thursday night we had the annual bank employee and family summer picnic. One of their customers offered his home for it. I thought it was very nice and generous. His back yard was amazing! It had to be a couple of blocks large. This is the pool going into the back yard. We had all the food and the grills up in the balcony area. The pool goes under it and comes out the other side. That is were most of the younger boys played. The older teenagers and 20 something kids were jumping off the roof into the pool.
This is Nathan and CJ on the other side. They played a lot with the big blown up ball behind them.
This is the most amazing tree house I have ever seen. It reminded me a lot of Swiss Family Robinson. It was 3 stories. Chris went up into it. The railing looked like branches, but was actually painted iron. I want one in our yard!
Back behind the treehouse on the right was a huge grassy area, and several hammocks. To the left behind the treehouse was a dock and a lg pond/lake!
This was the kids playset. You can see it at the bottom of the treehouse picture. On the left of the picture you can see a yellow pole. That was one of the poles for the vollyball net. They have that all set up for beach volleyball.
All around the lake and property he had sidewalks. This is the largest of the covered bench areas that he had. There were about 3 of them. I thought they looked really cool. Here is a view of part of the lake and the bridge that he had going over it. It was really a good sized one.
Chris and I took some time and got into the pedal boat and went around the lake. It was a lot of fun. One of the families there are in our ward. One of them is Kyle. He was one of Chris' priests in Young Mens. He wanted to play bumper boats. We got him first though. We turned and continued to go in. Chris saw a dead fish in the water. Surprisingly he picked it up and threw it back over his head toward Kyle. It actually landed in the boat. It kind of suprised Kyle and his friend. What a lucky toss! It must have just died, because it looked fresh. He must stock it for fishing. It looked like a trout!
The building there is the back of the pool. There is a pool overflow and then this waterfall running down the slope. It was probably 50 ft long. On the left side of the waterfall was where he had his garden boxes and fruit trees. Chris and I have plans to put a waterfall and stream in our back yard. We have also talked about a gazebo. This has just made us want it sooner!
The house had some really cool features too. The one I liked the most was the movable walls. They had the piano room, living room and the extra kitchen all open to the pool area. They just slid in the walls. Way, Way cool!
The kids like the full size trampoline in the basement. It was built into a round room with the velcro on the walls that you could stick to. Next to it was a ball pit. The slide that started on the top floor came out there. There was a small theater, and a rock grotto area for sitting by yourself. It is always fun to look around at other homes and get fun ideas!
