Special Stake Meeting

Our Stake Presidency called a special meeting this evening. They are realigning the boundries. Our stake is in the middle of town and aging. Several of the wards are really struggling with very little Aaronic priesthood. There is one ward that only has 200 people in it.

They told us that they have been going through this process for a year. They have submitted 11 plans to the First Presidency and they have been rejected. Number twelve was finally accepted. We are dissolving two wards, the 19th and the 26th, and they are being absorbed by the other wards in the stake. Our ward is absorbing about half of the 26th ward. We are really excited about it. It will be interesting to see what happens to our Primary. We get a lot of the stalwart members of their ward, like their current bishop. They announced that they are changing our Bishopric next week. The current one has only been in for four years, but they probably want to make a combined Bishopric for the new combined ward.
