Klondike Weekend

It was lucky, the boys have a scout leader that likes photography. Now that Chris isn't doing scouts, I still have someone to take the pictures of their activities for me. For those of you who have not done the Scouting thing, Klondike is overnight camping in the winter. Almost always done in the snow. Saturday morning they do sled races. The boys love it and they learn winter skills. (A nice change for desert rats LOL!) They had great weather, and lots of snow to play in. As soon as they got to their campground they had to start building their snow cave. Nathan and CJ were together.
The next morning all bundled up they cook and eat breakfast.

I was glad to see him with a coat and hat on. The night before the pictures he was just in his shirt sleeves and jeans. Crazy boy!
It was finally time for the races. They do several different kinds. This one is done with everyone blindfolded but the one riding in the sled. They have to follow his directions. CJ was in the sled, and Nathan is behind pushing.

This one was the 100 yard dash. Their sled fell over on its side and they were trying to get it upright again.
They aslo did a race where they go up and around a hill and then back down. Don't they look like they are having fun? Wish I had been there.
