Here the boys are signing in. They took up t-shirts for everyone so they could tell patrols apart. They were the 417 Flash Patrol.
Chris was beyond excited when he found out that the name of their campsite was the Wolf. He couldn't beleive his good fortune. The wolf is his kindred spirit!
They had a shotgun range and a rifle range at this camp. The boys enjoy target shooting, and are pretty good.
The first afternoon they had wood carving. Nathan was the first one to get the "Bloody Bandage" award. He was the first one to nick himself.
This camp also has the beginnings of a Cope Course. They are still working on parts of it. This was one of the beginning classes. It was called the trust fall. With the way these two are getting along these days, that was a little bit of a stretch.
Each patrol had to give several hours of service during the week. The patrol decided to help with clearing more ground for the cope course. The adult leaders were clearing the area when Cam found a rock. He started digging around it to begin to move it. It got bigger and bigger. It then became a challenge for the four of them to get it out of the way. They finally found the bottom of it. They rolled it out of the way. It exhasted them, but was a great team effort!
This is the 12ft high wall. CJ has never tried to go up it the last couple of years. This year he tried and made it. (Video won't upload) Chris and the other boys were so proud of him. Here he is at the top getting ready for next guy to come up. Great Job CJ!
This was the tire swing course. Nathan had a good time going across, although he almost fell off once. He finished the course.
Some of the games that they played during the week. This one the boys had to try and hand pull their partner over a line.
Nathan and Kendrik doing the stick pull. Nathan won that one.
One of the final activities of the week was to build a cardboard boat for a race in the pool. The winner was the last boat floating while trying to make the others swamp or sink. Our troop won! This is on the way to the pool. Yeah Dixie!
A great shot of all of the boys that went up this year. Can't wait for next year.
