Family Reunion

It has been a really long day, but we are finally in Virgina. I couldn't say anything before now, because we were surprising Chris' parents for their 50th wedding anniversary. We started really early this morning. We were up at 3am. Chris and I had quick showers, got the boys up and dressed and then we were on the road. We drove down, and left out of Vegas. Our flight left at 7am.
We ate breakfast in the airport before we boarded. Let me tell you, if you ever want to open a restuarant, do it in an airport. The mark up has to be 200%. It cost $26 for breakfast. We all had a drink and a breakfast sandwich. They know people will pay it, because they have no choice!
Back to the story... We flew from Vegas to Atlanta. Ann had come in a couple of hours earlier. The connecting flight had become really full. Ann and Chris went on the 3:00, and then the boys and I followed on the 5:00. Chris' younger sister Kristen and her husband Dennis met us at the airport and took us to their house. We had only been there about 15 minutes and Mom and Dad Weidman came over to have cake for Dad's birthday. We hid up in one of the bedrooms, and Chris called and asked to speak to mom. He told her he had gotten her a really big anniversary present. She asked what it was, and we came up behind her and said, "US". She couldn't believe it. She was really surprised. It has been 10 years since we have seen them. The boys were so young that they don't remember them.
Surprised look from mom when she saw all of us appear.

About an hour later Chris' older sister Vicki, and her husband Paul arrived. They live 2 hours away. We sat around and talked and laughed, ate cake and pie, looked at some old pictures.

We split up to go to bed. Ann stayed with Kristen's family. She and Dawn, their youngest, are both seniors this year. The boys went with Grandma and Grandpa, and Chris and I went to a hotel with Vicki and Paul.
