While the girls went shopping the guys went to the Naval yard. They couldn't see anything. Most everything was out of port. They drove over to another area and were able to see the U.S.S. Wisconsin, which has been decommissioned. You couldn't go inside, in case they decide to commission it again, but they looked all around the top side. Dennis told them about the ships.
My grandfather Ollar was in the Navy. He kept a journal while he was on board the USS Borie during WWII. Now I know what he meant when he referred to the big guns. He wasn't kidding.
