Nathan's School Registration

We were at Nathan's new school this morning at 8am again to get him registered. Again, none of the teacher's were in their classes and no class supply lists.

Nathan gets to have a locker this year. We tried several times each before we got it open. I always loved trying to get my locker open the first week of school before you figure out the secret of that exact one. Whether to lift up a little, push in a corner or go really slow..

Since he is in middle school this year he gets to experience several new things with his schedule. He will have several more classes each semester (more electives) and a A/B schedule days. He will attend half of his classes on A day, and half on B day. A and B days alternate every other day.

His A day is Science, US History, Pre Algebra and FACS. FACS is required for everyone in Utah. It is a combination of home ec and life skills. They teach cooking, finance, career choices, sewing and a variety of other things. A great class. I am glad they require it.

His B day will be Language Arts, P.E., Keyboarding (a new state requirement), and French I. He is excited about the French. Me too. Hopefully, we can learn together. My French was too long ago.
