After the announcement for Patrick Henry we just started down one side of the main street and stopping anytime there was something open.
This was the blacksmith shop. They were working on pieces for a wagon in the yard. It was an actual shop. Really cool to watch them heat the metal, pound and then cool and start the process all over.

As we were working our way down the street Patrick Henry came out and gave his famous "Give Me Liberty, Or Give Me Death" speech. It was really neat to be in the middle of all of the speaches and get the feel of the rebellion first hand. Gave the boys a whole different feel for American history.

This was the wigmakers. This actually fascinated me. They were making actual wigs. They made them out of human, goat, horse and cow. They talked about how they were a status symbol and that they were only for the wealthy. They talked about the phrase "going to the powder room" came from this time period when they would go about halfway through a ball to have their wig repowdered so it would look nice.
Just a view of some of the businesses and homes..
